 Karla Araújo

Karla is a law graduate with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in European and Comparative Law from the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands. She also holds a degree in Civil Engineering, and a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Construction and Rehabilitation from the University of Minho, in Portugal. She’s qualified as a lawyer and as a civil engineer both in Brazil and in Portugal. 

Karla has several years of experience in distinguished law firms, supporting national and foreign companies from different sectors of the economy. She also carried out a professional internship at a Brussels law firm in 2003. 

She has worked for many years in judicial and administrative proceedings, and currently advises in Portugal on investments for Golden Visa, international mobility and citizenship. She has lived as an expat in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and currently lives in Portugal, the country she adopted as her "soul home”. Karla speaks Portuguese and English. 

José Henrique Paz

    José Henrique is Law graduate with Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Center for Energy, Oil and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), in the United Kingdom (Rio Tinto/Chevening Scholar). 

He is qualified both in Brazil and Portugal. He helps clients in the areas of commercial, contract and administrative law, with vast experience with international clients, providing consultancy for the incorporation of companies, acquisition and disposal of assets, legal due diligences, international mobility and citizenship.   His professional experience includes working in the corporate and litigation areas of highly reputable law firms. He has also acted as an in-house lawyer in transnational companies operating in Brazil.

He has lived as an expat in the UK and currently lives in Portugal, the country he adopted as his "soul home". José Henrique speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish. 

   Mariana Sgarbi

Mariana is a Law and International Relations graduate with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Economic Law, from the University of Warwick, UK (Chevening Scholar); she has also earned an LL.M  in American Law for Foreign Lawyers in the United States, from Indiana University. 

She has experience in prestigious law firms in Brazil, Argentina, the UK and Portugal.   Mariana joins the Soul Home Portugal team with the main objective of promoting the consultancy, using the skills she acquired as an expatriate in the last twenty years. She has vast experience in all aspects involved in global mobility, from the legal immigration requirements to the choice of schools, bringing with her a comprehensive and strategic vision for solutions to our client's demands. She has lived as an expat in Argentina, the United States and Italy. Mariana speaks Portuguese, English, Italian, French and Spanish.
